Harrow-based P&P Hotel Housekeeping (P&P), a leading outsourced housekeeping provider to hotels across the UK, is continuing its rapid expansion with the support of a £3.4 million factoring facility from Pulse Finance.

Serving hotels ranging from 40 to 600 bedrooms, the business employs more than 1,800 permanent staff nationwide, delivering consistent, high-quality services to some of the UK’s most recognised hotel brands.

Founded in 1990, P&P began as a commercial cleaning company before making a pivotal move into hotel housekeeping in 2001 – a move that quickly transformed the trajectory of the business.

Amy Sond, Director of P&P, said: “Our story is one of humble beginnings, founded by my parents, their unwavering passion, and an unyielding commitment to revolutionise the world of cleaning and hospitality services.”

The company’s early focus on innovation and service excellence enabled it to challenge traditional approaches within the sector. Its transition into hotel housekeeping was driven by a clear ambition to enhance the guest experience.

“We expanded into hotel housekeeping because of our deep-rooted passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences,” Amy added.

Within months of entering the sector, P&P secured contracts with major international hotel groups, firmly establishing its reputation as a trusted partner across the UK.

A key differentiator for the business is its operational insight, gained through owning and managing two hotels. This dual perspective and hands-on experience enables the company to better understand client expectations and consistently drive high standards across its service delivery.

As the business expanded, growth brought new challenges – managing cashflow became increasingly critical – particularly given its commitment to directly employing all staff to ensure accountability and continuity.  They required reliable funding to bridge the gap between delivering services and receiving payment from clients.

“We’ve always believed in employing our staff directly to maintain standards and responsibility, but that comes with significant upfront costs—especially during periods of rapid growth,” Amy explained.

To support its expansion over the years, P&P partnered with Pulse Finance, building on a longstanding relationship established by Amy’s parents and the Pulses’ founder.

Pulse Finance now provides a £3.4 million factoring facility across two entities within the group with a combined turnover of £24m, enabling the business to maintain strong cash flow while continuing to grow.

Amy commented: “The reliability of Pulse Finance stands out. They have worked with us through good times and bad – they are always accommodating. Their offer reassurance that they and the facility will be there for us.”

Siouxsie Ashmore, Head of Operations at Pulse Finance said: “P&P is a business with a clear vision, sound values and strong operational foundations. We’re proud to support their growth by providing a flexible funding solution that allows them to scale with confidence knowing they have a dependable funder behind them.”

With financial backing in place, P&P has already expanded into Northern Ireland and is now exploring further international opportunities.

Looking ahead, Amy emphasised the company’s focus on sustainable growth and service excellence: “With a secure funding solution embedded into the business, we want to continue to grow a stable business and work with high-quality clients. Service is what we know, and we’re excited about expanding further, including overseas.”

From a family-run cleaning business to a major player in the UK hospitality sector, P&P’s journey is defined by passion, innovation, and resilience. As demand for outsourced housekeeping continues to rise, P&P, with a trusted financial partner in Pulse Finance, it is well-positioned to capitalise on new opportunities and continue its impressive growth, while maintaining the high standards that have defined its success for more than three decades.
